Things to do in Dune Allen
Dune Allen is extra special because it is home to three of the area’s fifteen coastal dune lakes that exist only in a handful of places around the globe, including New Zealand and Australia. These lakes share a connection with the gulf but are not always saltwater bodies. They fill with runoff and swelling groundwater but as they overfill their banks they mix with the gulf which makes each lake a unique body for wildlife and vegetation. Dune Allen also encompasses Topsail Hill State Park which has miles of hiking trails, a state park beach, and ample opportunities for camping and fishing. The park is named for the arching dunes that rise above the waters like the sail of a ship and are quite the sight to behold. In addition to these dunes, there are pine forests, sandy scrubland, marshes and are home to several unique species of plants and animals.
Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club is the member-owned golf course and private beach club located on scenic Highway 30A. Hugging the sugar-white sandy beaches, the club spans across more than 85 acres providing members, guests and the public with access to golf, dining and more. The club boasts an 18 hole, par 72 championship golf course, a beautiful Beach Club with private pool and beach access, plus dining – including the club’s signature restaurant located directly on the Gulf of Mexico, Vue on 30a.

Breakfast & Brunch: Brunch with a view at The Vue. The only thing better than their menu is the gulf front dining room. If you are in a hurry, pop into Sunrise Coffee for an iced coffee and one of Charlie’s donuts or their breakfast biscuits. Lunch: Need to feed a crowd? Pizza By The Sea serves up pizza, sandwiches, and pasta, the whole family will enjoy. Supper and Snacks: You can enjoy a cocktail and watch the sunset on the second-floor patio at Shunk Gulley. There is also plenty of TVs so you can watch the big game and listen to the waves crash at the same time. Roll Tide 😉 Enjoy their signature cocktail, Stink Juice, while you wait for a table at Stinky’s Fish Camp. Be sure to start with an order of boudin bites and oysters on the half shell. The kids can play on the dock and watch the turtles.
